Our 2019 House Captains

Cross Country

On Wednesday 9th October, 20 children from years 5 and 6 went to Odd Down Cross Country track and raced 1.2km against other local primary schools. Conditions were far from ideal for running a cross country course. It was very cold and wet, so well done to Harry, Connor, Flynn, Hayden, Harrison, Evie R, Zara, Anwyn, Ruby, Maxinne, Jacob, Vinnie, Peter, Alfie, Lucas, Rhianne, Evie O, Gracie, Gabriella and Avalee. Everyone raced well and had a good time, especially Zara, Vinnie and Rhianne who all placed in the top 6 of their races.

Yr 5/6 Football Team

On Monday 21st October the Yr5/6 travelled to Paulton for the first match of the season. The boys and Kate played exceptionally well but unfortunately lost 10-0 to a very good Paulton team. Well done team for not giving up!

Girls Football Tournament
Tuesday 12th November Feeling incredibly proud of our footballers tonight. All of the girls played brilliantly in freezing cold conditions and apart from 2 players, our B team had never played a match before. They drew their first game and narrowly lost the others.
The ‘A’ team went through to the finals following a ‘sudden death’ penalty shootout. Special mention has to go to Kate who saved goal after goal in the most stressful of situations, sadly the girls lost 1-0 in the final against Paulton. We couldn’t be more proud of the way the girls behaved showing excellent
sportsmanship at all times.

Boys Football Tournament
On Tuesday 25th November, the year 5/6 football team went to Somervale School to play in the foootball tournament. We were in a very strong group, playing against Paulton and Westfield (who were the eventual winners). We played exceptionally well and scored some brilliant goals but weren't able to grab the gold this time.Well done team!

Monday 3rd February 2020
Our football team from years 5 and year 6 played against Westfield Primary School. All the children really enjoyed themselves and loved the experience. We lost the game 5-1 but we played well as a team and even managed a slight advantage in the first half with our goal being scored by Harry. Well done to all the team for showing such amazing spirit throughout and working well as a team.

Girls Football match vs St John's
On Monday 10th February in the freezing conditions the girls football team travelled to Bath to play St John's in a cup match. It was a close match which eventually had to be abandoned due to a hailstorm when the score was 2-2. We will now play St. John's at home next term. Thanks to all our parents for their support.
