School Council 2019-2020

The school council play a very important role in our school community. They are elected by their peers to represent their views and to lead projects that benefit the school and the wider community. Over the  years they have raised money for some worthwhile causes including Children in Need, Comic Relief, and various other charities including some local ones.

During term 6 of 2019 and before the summer holidays the school council decided it would be nice to design a whole school tea towel.
Each class drew a picture of themselves and this was printed onto the tea towel. It was a squeeze but we managed to fit everyone on and we were very pleased with the end result and how it turned out.
We sold the tea towels for £5 each. We still have some available, so if you would like to purchase one then please contact the school office with your details.
We decided it would be nice to present the year 6 leavers with one from the school council as their leaving gift. All the pupils were really pleased with this!
The school council supported Children in Need week commencing 11th November 2019. On Wednesday the 13th November the School Council presented an assembly on "Helping A Friend In Need". The assembly was a great success and the children should be very proud of themselves! On Friday 15th November the whole school went SPOTTY AND STRIPY. It was a great turn out and the children all looked amazing!!! We also held a doughnut sale at break time to all the children within the school. (Allergy and dietary cakes were provided also!) Unfortunately both year 5 classes were on a school trip, so they had their doughnut sale on Tuesday 19th November instead. The money raised from both these events was a tremendous total of £250.
£72 was raised by the doughnut sales and £178 was raised by the mufti day.
Thank you to everyone who donated to this brilliant cause, it has been another successful year!!!
from the school council..........
We would like to take this opportunity to thank The Friends of St Nic's PTFA for the amazing amount of money they have given to the school council to be able to share out within the school as a whole. The school council have asked each class what they would like to spend the money on and it was decided to be spent on playtime equipment for both Key stages. We are still processing this and will be with the children in the future terms!!
Sparkle day- "Get Your Sparkle On" will be on Friday 13th December 2019! This is linked with the NSPCC! Watch out for the letter coming home in the next couple of weeks!!
